Why doesn’t my Reel appear on my profile?

Which error message or technical problem can hide your Reel?

A missing Reel can be the result of removal, an account restriction, a music problem, or a temporary app glitch. Check notifications carefully. A reach restriction is not the same as full removal.

Is the Reel in recently deleted?

When you delete a Reel yourself, it normally goes to Recently deleted. Meta says deleted content usually stays there for thirty days. During that period, you can restore the content or permanently delete it through the mobile app.

Open the menu on your profile and look for recently deleted content under your activity. The name and location of this section may change after an update. Check the cover, publication date, and video before tapping restore.

If the recovery period has expired, you can no longer bring the Reel back with this function. In that case, use the original video file to make a new Reel.

Did Instagram remove the Reel?

Check your account status. There you can see whether Instagram removed content or limited certain features. Professional accounts may also show information about recommendation eligibility.

A recommendation restriction does not automatically mean the Reel disappeared from your profile. The video may still be visible to you and your followers, but not recommended to people who do not follow you. If it was removed, the content is no longer publicly available.
